The Federal Council decided in 1994 for GAW and in 2006 for GCOS, respectively, that MeteoSwiss can provide subsidies to third parties for different activities. Based on Article 15 (GCOS Switzerland) and Article 16 (GAW Switzerland) of the Ordinance on Meteorology and Climatology (SR 429.11). MeteoSwiss can support 1) Monitoring activities, 2) Central Facilities and 3) Projects related to both programmes.
