The Swiss National GAW/GCOS Symposium 2026 brought together more than 100 experts to review progress since the last Symposium in 2021 and to identify priorities for the coming years. The symposium confirmed Switzerland’s strong contribution to the WMO Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) and Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) programmes and highlighted the continued importance of coordinated longterm Earth system observations.
